Words of Farewell -
As we prepare ourselves to say farewell to …., we remember that although this is his/her earthly remains which we are committing here today. His/her spirit, his/her personality, i’m sure will remain alive in your hearts and in your minds.
In these moments we honour and respect …..’s unique qualities and the genuine love and support he/she gave to his/her family and friends.
Holding close to your hearts all those unique and precious memories that you have of him/her. We may remember that Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes, because for those who love with their heart and being, there is no separation.
We now commit ….. to this place ashes to ashes and dust to dust in sure and certain hope that his/her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who love him/her from this day forward.
The influence that …. has had in our lives, i’m sure will continue to accompany you in your own life journeys, as each one of you carries forward an important part of …… into the future with you.
In these moments, we can remember ____ life, celebrating everything he/she was to you, for the happy times and the relationship that you shared with him/her, for the love and dedication that he/she showed to his/her family and to his/her friends and to his/her wider community. Also for his/her individuality. We can be grateful for the things that made him/her unique and special to you, and so holding those memories close to your hearts we let --- go.
As we prepare to leave this place now, hopefully with peace in our hearts and in charity with one another. You now face a future separated from ……, but as you were all privileged to have known him/her, and we remember his/her life with joy, then all his/her hopes and dreams now rest with you.
