Celtic Service -
The Celtic Service is a more Gentle Ceremony for a funeral, it can be adapted, changed or used just as it is. This ceremony is used for those who have beliefs that are Christian, but are not attached to any particular church or denomination.
As the gentle breeze of springtime warms the winter world, a new year begins,
As the golden sun of morning scatters the shadows of night a new day begins,
As our Lord Jesus Christ Reaches our to take our hands at the gate of death, then a new life begin.
May God enfold us, and surround us,
in our speaking and in our thinking.
May he protect us when we sleep,
both in our waking, and in our watching,
in all our hopes and all our dreams.
In our hearts and In our living,
in our deeds and in our rest,
and in our ever-living soul,
may we find God’s eternal grace,
Amen
Welcome
Dear friends in Christ we believe that all the ties of friendship and affection which knit us as one though out our lives do not unravel in death.
Light a Candle
Light a candle in your heart, for the ones who’ve travelled on.
Say a prayer for the faithful, still holding on.
Light a fire within your eyes, a flame that nothing can destroy.
Through the tears I know we’ll reach a deeper joy.
We played the games of childhood,
we played the music of romance,
oh but not until the song is over
can we really learn to dance.
It can be hard to say goodbye, it can be hard to understand.
we sometimes don’t know every answer,
but we believe they’re safe in the Father’s hands.
Light a candle in your heart, for the ones who’ve travelled on
Say a prayer for the faithful, still holding on.
Death shall never have dominion where the King of Life shall reign.
By his Spirit when this life is over, we’ll dance together again.
and for the ones who’ve travelled on
Say a prayer for the faithful still here, still holding on.
Light a Candle in your heart.

In these moments, we can be thankful for her life, for the happy times and the relationship that you shared with her, for the love and dedication that she showed to family and to friends and for her individuality. We can be grateful for the things that made her unique and special to you, and so holding those memories close to our hearts we let --- go.
God by in my head and in my understanding.
God by in my eyes, and in my looking;
God by in my mouth and in my speaking;
God by in my heart and in my thinking;
God by at my end, and at my departing
